We Almost Missed Simba's Joint Problem — Until the Gait Scan Flagged It
Share
Simba is a four-year-old Labrador. He was still eating well, still excited for walks — just slightly slower getting up in the mornings. We wrote it off as laziness.
His Doctapet Gait Scan said otherwise.
The report flagged irregular weight distribution on his rear left leg — an early indicator of joint stress. No limp. No obvious pain. Nothing we would have caught on our own.
We took the report to our vet. X-rays confirmed early hip dysplasia in exactly the joint the scan had flagged.
Simba is now on a joint support supplement and a modified exercise routine. His gait score has improved from 54 to 78 in ten weeks.
We weren't looking for a problem. The app found one anyway.
